each pay cycle is run smoothly on time and with the highest level of accuracy.  Our Payroll Manager will also ensure compliance with relevant federal and state laws and taxation obligations.  It is also the responsibility of the Payroll Manager to ensure  that they supervise, develop and train payroll staff members so as to provide a high performing customer centric payroll service to internal bodiesFrontierClick SuperExternal auditorsKey Responsibilities:The Payroll Manager is responsible for but not limited to:FunctionalManage the delivery of effective and efficient payroll operations ensuring the appropriate payment, disbursement, checking and reconciliation procedures are in place and undertaken in a timely manner.Ensuring that payroll and other employee compensation payments are made to staff in accordance with Company policy, industrial instruments and legal and taxation requirements.Ensure the Company complies with any changes to its obligations under relevant employment law and industrial instruments in a timely manner.Ensuring that all payroll taxation and other remuneration deductions are correctly provided for, reported on and paid to the relevant authorities in a timely manner.Be an active participant in the Company Superannuation Committee meetings as the payroll stakeholder.Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports and payroll journals for the finance system along with any reconciliations required.Prepare management reports when requested based upon information within the payroll system.Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations.Systems development, implementation and maintenance to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all payroll related processes.Work in conjunction with Management, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate internal controls and risk management procedures are developed and maintained.Work in partnership with the People Team to consolidate benefits delivered through the identification of process improvement resulting in leading practice.Ensure accurate and appropriate records of payroll process and transactions are maintained.General other duties as reasonably requiredSystemMaintain the payroll systems in line with Alliance’s finance and people teams protocols and processes.Ensure that payroll system upgrades, development and workflows are managed and maintained efficiently and effectively to assist Alliance in achieving strategic objectives.Work with the information technology team to ensure the system is secure and any risk of cyber threats is minimal.People and TeamEstablish, lead, coach and inspire an engaged and productive teamLead the team in leading practices and effective process quality, safety and security compliance as required by the Alliance Airlines Corporate Safety Manual by all subordinate staff.Ensure a high standard of OH&S and environmental compliance in accordance with state law.Position Requirements Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or similar is preferred and/or demonstrated experienceComplete a National Police CheckExperience and knowledge:Demonstrated Payroll Manager experience (minimum 3 years) managing a payroll of 1,000+ employees.Current knowledge of general payroll practices, industrial instruments and general employment related legislation.Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Chris21 considered an advantage) and Office 365 suit (especially Excel).Comprehensive knowledge of:Modern Awards and other state and industry legislationPayroll tax and Workcover legislation across multiple jurisdictionsExperience dealing with ATO, Centrelink, The Child Support Agency and Superannuation clearing houses.Solid financial acumen with in-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing.Team management experience.Skills: Very strong focus on providing a high-quality service to internal clients.High level communication skills with ability to deal with staff from all levelsProven skills in self-management and organisation; along with ability to review detailed data, spot anomalies and/or gaps and identify and implement solutions.Strong commitment to maintenance of highest standards of confidentialityAbility to
