Reporting to our General Manager of Engineering & CEO, if you love a challenge in a dynamic, growing organisation, this role is an amazing chance to help shape the direction and outcome of Australia's fastest growing Airline. About the RoleThe Part 145 Safety Manager will be a nominated CASA Form 004 holder as outlined in the CASA Part 145 Manual of Standards (MOS). The role will ensure effective implementation and compliance with the Company Safety Management Systems while providing positive engagement and support with Alliance Airlines department heads with relation to Safety and Compliance Requirements.The Part 145 Safety Manager is responsible for but not limited to:Completion of assigned audits to acquit the audit schedule on time.Host external safety investigator and audit teams as required during organisational 3rd Party AuditsPerform and complete Investigations as requiredProvide SME input to Safety Investigations as requestedProvide an active safety interface with the AMO Departments and provide direction and advice as required to develop internal Policy, Process and proceduresAnalyse all safety occurrences to determine if investigation is warranted in accordance with CSMReport any significant or elevated safety risks to the CEO, GM Engineering and Head of SafetyDevelops and maintains organisational tools, procedures and methodologies for Safety Risk and Change Management System for the AMO.Assists with developing and implementing safety procedures consistent with the operational requirements of the AMOEnsures compliance with employment agreements and company policies in all activitiesShort notice travel to meet investigation requirements (when required)Provide coverage of Quality Manager – AMO/Part 147 in time where the post holder is unavailableWH&S, Safety, Security, Environmental & Regulatory CompliancePromote and maintain a high standard of quality, safety and security compliance as required by the Alliance Airlines Company Safety Manual by all subordinate staffPromote safety & security reporting within the eSMS by all staffLiaises with CASA (as directed by the Executive Management) in relevant matters affecting AMO Safety. Complies with all mandatory incident and reporting requirementsBuilds and maintains strong working relationships with regulatory and other external customers/contractors as requiredEnsure a high standard of WH&S and environmental compliance in accordance with state lawQualifications & ExperienceHold an Aviation Lead Auditor certificate (Mandatory)Hold a Safety Investigator accreditation (Mandatory)Has Aviation experience and/or associated Tertiary qualificationHold an Environmental accreditation (Desirable)Hold an WH&S accreditation (Desirable)Knowledge & Skills                                                            Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary aviation safety Investigation procedures and policiesKnowledge in an Australian regulatory environment including WH&S and Environmental requirementsKnowledge of aviation fuel standardsDemonstrated knowledge of contemporary aviation safety audit procedures and policiesKnowledge of an operational airline environment and in particular Safety Management SystemsDemonstrated interaction with CASA and 3rd Party organisations in regards to occurrence and Investigation managementDealing with suppliers of various company safety systemsExcellent written and oral communicationDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team focussed environmentStrong analytical and reasoning skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy of workAbility to think laterally in order to problem solveWell-developed computing skills, particularly MS OfficeAlliance AirlinesAlliance has world-leading operational performance, a key attribute sought by its customers.
