We are expanding our Flight Operations Management Team, which will include new roles that will integrate our fleets within Flight Training and Standards, positioning us for future success and operational excellence.  We invite you to join us on this journey as our Deputy Flight Standards Manager.What's the role on offer?As the Deputy Flight Standards Manager, you'll take charge when the Flight Standards Manager is unavailable, overseeing flight standards with a mix of leadership and flying or simulator responsibilities (50% flight duties). You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety, assessment, and CASA regulations, while maintaining your Check Captain approval. Lead a team of skilled professionals and help drive excellence in our flight checking programs at Alliance Airlines!You'll work side by side with the Flight Standards Manager to ensure we: Set and maintain standards for Fokker and Embraer flight crew, including Training and Check Pilots.Oversee the training, proficiency, and management of Line Check, Simulator Check Pilots, and Type Rating Examiners.Ensure the provision and upkeep of Fokker and E190 flight simulation devices.Develop and implement effective flight checking programs using our simulators and aircraft.Maintain comprehensive flight crew checking records, ensuring compliance with CASA regulations.Recommend improvements to flight training standards, policies, and procedures.Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards across flight operations.Lead and manage flight operations staff, promoting a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.Who are we looking for?You have a passion for aviation training and assessment, a strong command of regulatory frameworks, and the ability to inspire a team to perform at their best. With delegated authority, you’ll ensure your team is well-prepared to meet operational challenges safely and efficiently.Experienced Check Captain: A minimum of two years as a Check Captain with a Part 121 Air Transport Operator.Type Rated: Type rated on the Fokker 100, E190 or a similar Part 121 Air Transport Category aircraft.Relevant Qualifications: Hold or have held, CASA Part 61 Instructor or Examiner Rating, Check Captain approval (121 Proficiency Check) or equivalent.Licensing: Hold an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and Instrument Rating (IR(A) 2D/3D).Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate (If required for operational flying)Knowledge in Flight Training and assessment: Strong understanding of Flight Training and Checking programs, including the Alliance Airlines Training and Checking Manual.Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a tight knit team under pressure.Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical, attention to detail, and computing skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite, with extensive experience in airline operations and as a Training and Check pilot.Step into a role that blends leadership, safety, and hands-on flying experience!*This role is based onsite at our Head Office near Brisbane Airport*Does this sound like you?If the sound of this role excites you and you have the skills, we're looking for we'd love to hear from you.
