What's the role on offer?
Based onsite at our Head Office near Brisbane Airport, the Injury Management Advisor plays a vital role in supporting employee wellbeing by coordinating safe, timely and sustainable return-to-work outcomes following injury or illness.
This is a permanent part-time position (0.6 FTE), offering flexibility in days and hours. You will manage workers’ compensation claims end-to-end and work closely with operational leaders, insurers and external providers to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best-practice injury management.
The role also supports employees with non-work-related injuries or medical conditions where these impact capacity to perform duties, ensuring a consistent, proactive and supportive approach to recovery and workplace participation.
- Manage end-to-end workers’ compensation claims, including claim lodgements, ongoing case management, and timely escalation where required.
- Partner with Workers’ Compensation Insurers to ensure appropriate intervention, effective case progression, and positive return-to-work outcomes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external providers, including injury management, rehabilitation and allied health professionals.
- Manage the relationship with Direct Health Solutions (DHS) as the first-contact injury support provider, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
- Coordinate suitable duties plans, workplace assessments and return-to-work arrangements for injured or unwell employees.
- Assess non-work-related injuries or medical conditions to determine fitness for duty, considering operational, safety and financial impacts.
- Oversee workers’ compensation administration, including payroll instructions, wage reimbursement schedules and Loss of Licence entitlements.
- Provide accurate advice, maintain detailed records, and deliver regular reporting on workers’ compensation and injury management matters.

Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience in an Injury Management role (minimum 2 years), or prior exposure to an injury management model involving third-party triaging (desirable).
- Return-to-Work Coordinator accreditation (any Australian state). Degree-level qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Strong working knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation across multiple states, workplace health and safety obligations, and escalation pathways throughout the claims lifecycle.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with high emotional intelligence and the ability to build effective relationships and tailor communication to influence positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement in sensitive and complex matters, and contribute to injury investigations and return-to-work planning.
- Highly developed documentation and computer skills, including confidence working with payroll systems, combined with a professional, mature and decisive approach to complex injury management scenarios.
