Rockhampton Aviation Maintenance (RAM) is a $60 million, state-of-the-art, three-bay Base Maintenance facility located at Rockhampton Airport. Purpose-built to support the Alliance Airlines fleet, RAM delivers Base Maintenance services across Embraer E190 and Fokker 70/100 aircraft.

Based in Central Queensland, Rockhampton combines modern city conveniences with a relaxed riverside lifestyle and is just 35 minutes from the stunning beaches of Yeppoon.

Alliance Airlines is unique in the Australian aviation market as a 100% fleet-owning airline. Our growing fleet includes:

• 37 Fokker 70/100 aircraft
• 31 Embraer E190 aircraft
• Firm purchase commitments through mid-2026 for a further 26 E190 aircraft

Alliance also dry-leases three E190 aircraft to a third party under recently extended five-year agreements.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our rapidly growing Rockhampton Aviation Maintenance Facility. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a newly established operation and play a pivotal role in driving safety, performance, and innovation across our engineering and maintenance functions.

Reporting directly to the CEO / Managing Director, this senior leadership role has full accountability for the strategic, operational, financial, and cultural success of the Rockhampton facility. You will champion safety, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes aligned with Alliance Airlines’ long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction, planning, and innovation of the Rockhampton Maintenance Facility.
• Oversee operational performance and financial management, ensuring budgets and cost-efficiency targets are achieved.
• Ensure full compliance with CASA regulations, quality management systems, and maintenance standards.
• Drive a strong, proactive safety culture, including OHS practices and hazard management.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, values-driven team.
• Manage customer and supplier relationships, ensuring contractual obligations, KPIs, and service standards are met.

About You

You are a confident, strategic leader with deep aviation maintenance experience and a passion for building high-performing teams in complex operational environments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Technology Management.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in MRO or heavy maintenance management, including financial control.
• Strong knowledge of Base and Line Maintenance and CASA regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary support functions (Training, HR, Finance, etc.).
• Eligible to obtain an ASIC and CASA Nominated Person approval.
