An opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Fokker Pilot to step into the role of
Flight Standards Manager - Fokker.
Joining us in Head Office, the
Flight Standards Manager - Fokker is responsible for upholding and continuously enhancing the standards of flight training and checking across Alliance Airlines’ CASR Part 142 operations. This management role ensures all training and checking activities meet the highest regulatory, safety, and company requirements, while maintaining approximately 20% flying to ensure ongoing currency and competency. The position also carries Flight Examiner responsibilities and may act as the alternate for the Manager Flight Training and Standards when formally authorised, offering a strong pathway for career progression within Alliance Airlines.
As the
Flight Standards Manager - Fokker, no two days are the same. You will play a pivotal role in shaping training quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the professional development of our flight crew. This is a dynamic leadership position where your decisions directly influence safety, operational standards, and the overall performance of Alliance’s training and checking programs.
- Ensuring all Instructors, Examiners, and Training Captains hold valid CASA and company approvals, and maintaining ongoing oversight of qualification currency.
- Upholding full regulatory, safety, and security compliance across all CASR Part 61, 121, and 142 training and checking activities.
- Setting, maintaining, and monitoring high training and checking standards for all Fokker TRIs, TREs, Check Captains, and Ground Instructors.
- Overseeing the effectiveness, compliance, and availability of all Fokker flight simulation training devices.
- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving flight checking programs, supported by accurate and compliant training and checking records.
- Managing training policies, procedures, and systems, and recommending enhancements to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Assessing crew performance, providing timely reporting and feedback, and contributing to safety- and training-related change management and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Promoting a strong safety, security, and OH&S culture while ensuring effective staff management, resource use, and adherence to company and CASA requirements.
Who are we looking for?

- Current Flight Examiner with at least two years’ Check Captain experience in a Part 121 Air Transport Operator
- Type rated on the Fokker, with deep experience as a Check and Training pilot.
- Holds an ATPL, valid Class 1 Medical, Instrument Rating IR(A) 2D/3D, and eligibility to work in Australia.
- CASA Part 61 Examiner Rating (IR(A) or Type Rating) or Instructor Rating.
- Strong knowledge of flight training and checking programs and expert understanding of the Alliance Training and Checking Manual.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a team, with strong communication, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Proven capability to work under pressure with initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Meets CASA requirements to act as an alternate for the Manager Flight Training and Standards, with extensive airline and aviation management experience.
